To print a map: letter size two-page map or tabloid size. The preserve is 2.5 miles end to end. The mileage of the longest loop, the Red trail combined with the Highland trail, is about 5.5 miles. Distances of shorter trails can be found in posts on the home page. Located in Rotterdam near Albany and Schenectady in New York State’s Capital Region.
Always like to read and find new places to hike. Thanks Ed..
Thanks for creating this map! I enjoyed a nice hike here last weekend and used the orange trail. Any idea why it isn’t featured on the PKP brochure map?
Hi Diana,
The orange trail is pretty important to get left off the brochure map. Just an oversight I guess. Thanks for the thanks!
Thanks for taking the efforts to post the map; I frequent Plotterskill often and never had an idea that there was much more to explore.
I have only been to the left part on the map from the Coplon Rd trailhead coz I always thought that’s all there is.
Jeev.
Happy exploring!
The orange trail is not on the map because part of it (above the landslide) crosses private property outside of the county preserve.
You’re right K Dub. I don’t think it trespasses by much, but it does. I’m not sure that I’ve drawn it correctly but it’s something like that.
Your map is better than the official brochure. Thanks for your efforts. Is it available to purchase in a larger size for us old guys?
Hi Kevin, good idea. I’ve put a link to a pdf of the map in the caption above. You should be able to print from that, a two-page map with some overlap, pretty big.
Thank you, Ed. It worked perfectly. Now I can leave my “cheater” glasses at home.
