June 5, 2012: Pretty cool huh! The PKP now has three trailheads. Thanks to Schenectady County the new Gregg Road trailhead is almost finished. Looks like room for four cars in the new parking lot.
***The new trail is muddy in spots with boardwalks constructed for the worst sections. The trail jogs to the left just after a boardwalk bridging a little brook, the trail turns and follows the brook about 100 feet, easy to miss until the trail is more established.
***Get to the Lower Gregg Road trailhead from Rte 5S, either from exit 26 on the Thruway or exit 1 on Route 890. First you’ll see Lower Gregg Rd paralleling 5S, take that, then Lower Gregg Rd turns from that. Bear left after going through the overpass, watch for the trailhead on the left.
***Here’s an announcement about the new trailhead from Schenectady County, an article about it from the Albany Times Union. —Ed

Thanks, Ed. We’ll have to visit this.
Hi Todd,
If it’s your first time the Mariaville Road entrance is best.
