Miller Falls

April 25, 2012: Back in February Ian Miller commented that he had seen a fourth big falls – 15 to 20 feet he said. Today I wasn’t looking for it, but there it was, and I’d say that it’s more like 25 feet high. On the map, locate a cluster of four small falls (triangles) downstream from Sergeant’s Falls. This “Miller Falls” is just to the south of those triangles.
***It’s on a feeder brook coming in from the south, um, Cattail Creek? (If you look for the source you find it draining a field on the Gordon farm, lots of cattails.) Yah, this looks like the fourth biggest falls in the preserve. The best way to see it is to hike up the clove from the Plotter Kill.
***There are no trails going to this area. Maybe go down into the ravine where the power lines go over, I have to try that. (doesn’t work, that cleared area is waist deep in fallen trees) —Ed Atkeson
