January 15: It’s cold but the trails are solid. Spikes recommended.
***Advantages to winter hiking, no muddy boots!
January 13, 2012: Hiking in the new snow. Wet snow over loose leaves is pretty annoying to hike in, but the views were definitely worth it. More pix here.

Beautiful!
Hi Stephanie, nice seeing you again. Keep those Girlscouts back from the edge.
Went out yesterday…loved being the first to walk on some parts of the trail…nothing like crunchy, virgin snow! If anyone finds a YakTrak (rubber thingy that fits on boots to help grip in the ice) along the Plotter Kill close to the lanslide or bushwhacking up the hill to the east side of the landslide, let me know! Thanks!
I’ll keep an eye out for the YakTrak.
Going up the east side of the landslide… I know the place. Really an unmarked trail, I left it off the map out of consideration for the “leave no trace” recommendations.
